What's happening guys? No wind? Too cold?? Loss of Motivation?? What to we have to do to get you guys posting again? Do you need some further incentive?
Personally, I blew my knee out at soccer so have been off the water for nearly 4 weeks. Undergoing heaps of physio just so I'll be right for Speedweek in October.
Look out for the angry balding middle aged man with a brace on his leg dying to get out on the water come October [}:)]
Curious though Hardie, what might this further incentive be??? I am prepared to suffer for my craft...![]()
Don't think too much about it Hardie. Remember, we're not all in it for the glory. Personally I am in the challenge to better myself and enjoy the camerarderie (sic) with fellow sailors. I'm sure there are many sailors out there that have as bad conditions and crap winds as we do in Sydney. I think you should leave the rules as they are and if we get wind, then we get wind.
I think we also maybe to revisit some of the members of the teams as we have people who registered but for some reason have never once posted. Maybe a reminder email to them mightn't be a bad idea???
Another problem for a lot of us here, and I know this isn't by any means reserved for Sydney/ NSW sailors, is being able to get out for a sail mid week or after work hours. Traffic over here is a nightmare so trying to get anywhere after work or before work moreso in the winter months when the days are shorter is pretty much a non event. Come Summer when there are a few more daylight hours it's a different story.
Just my 2 cents worth ![]()
Hi Hardie,
Its just been that there has been no wind on the weekends. If there was wind you'd definitely see more posting.
I think ive forgotten how to gybe!
Cheers

Yes, its impossible to have normal working hours and being able to sail after work. The current rules are fine and basically reflect the reality of the situation.
Whats a bit annoying is people posting "crap gusty wind" yet they get 30+ knots and sail about 50 kms on the GPS challenge.
I am quite happy to swap their winds for ours.
The other problem is the wind is predominatly from the west. There are very few places around Sydney where a westerly is any good. The one good place is apparently not a pleasant place to be.
Don't worry Hardie no motivation problems here just no wind when there's time or no time when there's wind.
Forecast is OK for later today so will give it a try if things work out. Made sure I can clear a little time.
Sam.
Hards, what Sam said.![]()
Today and tomorrow are looking the goods so we might get a few postings. Im heading up the coast tomorrow to see if I can jag the end of the front.
Regarding what Sick-em said about the Cockroaches. Lots of guys on there have never posted and I only know about 8 or so anyway.
Dont know what you can do but as said, no incentive is needed. We just luck out at this time of the year. May, June, July and August are crap, used to be good years ago.![]()
I'll be out tomorrow for sure. I just realised - It's august, and I haven't planed since june!
C'mon Huey, don't bail out on us again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got a week off starting tomorrow tonight at beer o'clock this afternoon. Heading down the coast with my wife and boards. I'll hopefully be posting results during the week. If anyone else can get out during the week, meybe we can squeeze in another team posting.
all we need is a little bit of wind, all you other states use the the wind before it gets to sydney and when it gets here it's 0-5 kts perfect weather to sit on the beach and have a few beers last sunday perfect example, browne points looking good.not to cold, lots of motivation, plenty of frustration, send us some wind.
[on the weekend have to work through the week].
