Well here it is New Years Eve with 2011 only hours away. We had been hoping that we would get in a final sailing session for the year, but heavy showers and lack of wind, put paid to those hopes.
Neither Lyn nor I managed to get any PBs during 2010. Lyn sailed 99 times for 1859 Kms during the year whilst I managed 110 sessions for 2050 kms. I rode my bike for a total of exactly 1600 Kms.
In 2011 I will have my 75th birthday, which is OK, except that my skill on the board has been going downhill since about when I turned 70. Quite a few maneuvers that used to be a piece of cake are now beyond me. My neuromuscular co-ordination is not what it used to be. I guess this is just part of the aging process.
Nevertheless I will be around for quite a while yet. Windsurfing is so much a part of our lives, we will keep it up. Maybe a PB in the future.
I didn’t mean for this to sound like a bit of a whinge….
…..Rather ….Happy New year to all. from Lyn and Herby

Just read your post Old Fella re times sailed and K's and I just thought but then not really surprised, anyone who has met you and Lyn along with Hoppy and Hans know your a lot more than legends, your dead set inspirational and so proud to have you on our team

Bloody good effort in what has been the worst windsurfing year in FNQ that I can remember. Considering rain = no wind on the mainland in FNQ, how's this for statistics, this year at Cairns Airport which is a dry area so far this year we have had 71 more wet says than 2009 and totaling 208 days so far But it's not all bad, been plenty of great family days jumping around in fresh water swimming holes

From all the FNQ Mob, have a healthy, fun and windy New Year

We're certainly talking about it, would be nice to be there for your Green Island week, but it's not set in concrete yet.

i was going to mention the swiming but i think those kms are included in the sailing as Herby had the rig in one hand and the board in the other.

Hi Herb & Lyn - geez you put me to shame I think I only sailed about 3 times last year but I hope to turn that around in 2011.
What about this low off the coast just now whipping up some good wind - were you up at the dam today and if so was it any good - perhaps I will see you there tomorrow (Sun) unless I head to the coast.
Hope to catch you soon.

Cooool. Looks like typical Tinni weather when lows are about, Bet you've never packed up in the rain there before.... I'll alk to JD tonight - if we don't head to the coast and still windy then I'll head down to Black Gully mananah.
