I know I could find this out somewhere on the net, but I thought I'd go to the source.

What's the tide difference between Fremantle and the Estuary ?

What roughly is the minimum height for Hardies run ?

I'm hoping to head down on Friday and attempt 100kms (10 return trips to the observation platform ?)

Check DPI site for Peel Inlet. The run itself needs an absolute minimum of about 55cm, 60 to 65cm is ideal. Different to Freo.

Sheeze,
I'm looking at the wrong web site

Nice numbers guys

I'm going for distance. Thinking of using a wave board as I don't think my sensitive little ankles can handle three hours on solid carbon.

FFS I haven't even posted an hour yet

At 50 to 55cm tide, your still gonna hit rocks if you go thru the run enough, I went thru about 20 times yesterday and hit rocks 2wice with a 23cm weedy, which is now 22cm and ready to go for today

Tide is not an issue if you head for the platform. I think uou will need more than 10 runs to the latform for 100ks..... I use the ready reckoner that 100ks = 54 Nm on the Navi trip meter. Just do a bit more to make sure!
If the wind swings more southerly you can still do distance on the esutuary in lower tided, just stay well south (I suggest 40metres+) of the 2 markers (white pipes) which are south of the Gazebo. T
Do remember that thos 2 markers do not show the southerly extent of shallow rocks

Sail with your eyes closed

If you can not see them they do not exist

We only started hitting the rocks when we knew they were there
