Got the pads and straps on today, all we need now is some wind to test it and us!
Be happy with 18-20 for a start, just to get the feel of it.

Looks sleeker in the flesh, that angle doesn't do it justice, didn't want my ugly head in the photo, to hold it up properly![]()
Ya put the straps on the wrong end ya goose!![]()
What width and volume would you say it is? I wish my nosejob looked as nice as yours does ![]()

Nice looking board Decrep, it looks pretty similar in shape to my AB+ 58. Its 240 x 58 and about 90 ltrs.
Well done.
Years ago I tried to shape a speed board. I got as far as cutting the foam to approx outline. I took it to a board shaper and I ended up with a tiny needle as what I had done was so crap the shaper had to take off so much foam and thats all I ended up with.![]()
Thanks ka43, this is about 240 long but only 47 wide, so it's a bit narrower than yours. I've put up 3 more photos, viewed straight on instead of from the back, gives a better idea of plan shape.

and this one of the bottom finish.

After the info on the "bottom finish" thread yesterday, I decided to polish the last meter or so. Trouble is that shows up all the wobbles.
In the photo it looks OK, but when you move the board around the distortion becomes evident.
Oh well if we get to the stage where we're chasing the last half knot for a PB. It's another fill and sand job.
I'm glad people aren't taking this thing too seriously...you guys have the built the mandurah missile, Gestalt has got his new speed board, I sold my 3 month old freeride sail and bought a 6.6 Koncept and am looking for a fast slalom board. You know that we will have bugger all wind now.
the board looks great guys. always fun to sail something you did yourself.
hehe fitz. what do ya mean taking it too seriously. you know the freewave sail had to go be upgraded to get more speed. i think the fact that we both sailed together for over 30 km with totally different boards, fins, stances and techniques but on the same sails and ended up only 0.5 knots appart is saying something. ![]()
sounds like mineral wants to be a rig monkey.
She Rides!!!
yyeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh
Big thanks go to Decrep for the Impact testing of his handy work![]()
