came across this, the next big speed thing, maybe???

Most info on the net is in French, but basically, this has been mixed with copper to make yatchs/boats faster (With good results).

F192 AA got involved and for kite suffers and windsurfers they switched the copper for aluminium (to keep the weight down). AA says he is using it on all us speedboards.

So that explains why AA broke the windsurfing speed record...nothing to do with his skill, excellent equipment, meticulous preparation etc.

Phill Carbon has been using it on his PC2 boards for a while. He speed boards seem to prove it works.

Same as what I thinking too. I wonder if normal guys like me would actually get any gains at all and maybe it's only for the real fast guus looking fo all those 0.5% increases.

Having said that though, it's not cheap and if PC2 boards are using it on their speed boards, maybe there are small gains to be had by normal guys!!?.

If you need anti-fouling paint to stop barnacles and other things growing on the bottom of your speed board, then you may need to look at your approach to speed sailing.

I can understand with Kiteboards as they can occasionally drift around the ocean lost for a while as they get "away" from their riders
