Great stuff!
I've been a bit disappointed for Spotty and B-Rad so far as they haven't had a chance yet to find their groove and show what they are really capable of. It's a long way to go to experiment with different GoPro angles, do some SUP'ing on the canal, and talk fins. I really hope the wind absolutely cranks and they get the chance to do their best work on the speed run.
Can't wait to see their numbers...
No details but just read on FB there's been a major accident and they've closed the canal.
Edit- Sophie Routaboul (spelling) broke her leg on the run.
And Hans copped a bit of sabotage!!! not good.

That's really bad news about Sophie!
Didn't she do the same last year? Plagued with bad luck.
It looks like the forecast slipped away. They still think Sunday will be good. Hopefully it will get better next week as well.
Yes, yesterday was one of those days where there was bad luck around, biggest concern is with Sophie and her recovery. For those of us that have witnessed herself and Seb' take on the start and the entry to the canal at incredible acceleration is really something else. All I can say is she is one tough women and we all wish her the best in her recovery.
As Farrel mentioned whilst having the usual cheerful banter in the supermarket the other day "if one can think they can come here and bust out 50, well most would be mistaken". Have told myself that for the last year whilst trying to not over think it, now I'm stepping through some adjustments with help from Patrick, Anders, Farrel, Hans K' and others. Everyone is pretty helpful and a good atmosphere here to get help to improve at this unique location.
Hans has busted out pretty much since his first day on the canal and goes to show technique and setup that you are use to at home may or may not assist you here. The bad oil will only make him more determined and told him to focus on that rather than it, looks like it turned out to be the good oil as it did not slow him down much yesterday when he was one of the first to get a gps run in before the timing gear fired up again whilst the wind peaked a bit.
AA's and Mitch's return from down south to Ludz took an unscheduled stop also before their session when the local constabulary they were tailing thru the nature reserve rolled their squad car several times off a tight corner throwing one of the 3 occupants out the side window. So they had a bit to deal with as well but all 3 occupants eventually walked away and they continued on.
So now the planets have finished having a fit, things should improve for all here!!! Sorting my over sheeting problem out and feeling able to sit back in harness a bit more as opposed to standing up somewhat, after yesterdays brief session for us with all the commotion.
