Entry proposals are out now for the Luderitz speed challenge.
The proposal includes Four weeks for an 'Elite' class and two weeks before that starts open to others.
We suggested to the organisers that they run this two weeks before the main event GPS only, without WSSRC timing to substantially reduce the cost of participating. The cost difference is in the order of 800 Euros, roughly A$1000 a week!
The entry proposals that have been sent out advertise it as having WSSRC timing with the additional high costs.
I sent an email to Seb asking about cost for a group from Australia (or others) for GPS only.
Seb has asked me how many Australians are interested.
Can sailors who are seriously interested in a group deal with use of the canal using GPS only and not WSSRC timing please contact me by email or PM ASAP.
If you have already entered and would prefer GPS only with the reduced cost, can you please let the organisers know this by email ASAP
BTW. Anyone else been watching the Windguru forecasts for Luderitz right now?
Maybe they are holding the speed events at the wrong time of the year?
Maybe it just doesn't matter because it's always windy?
