Sorry if this has been covered in another topic, but I am trying to find the latest version of the firmware for my GW 60 watch. Mine has the B version, but have been told there is a C version. The Locosys website only has the B version, so can anyone point me in the right direction to find the C version. Tnx.
Just turned my watch on to check it's version, but forgot that where the adjust button should be, there's just a silicon plug. But I think it's also a "B". When the alpha versions first came out there were a couple of test versions, maybe they were "C"s. In which case you wouldn't gain anything. Somewhere I should have different versions, but they'd be on an older computer, I'll have a look later.

Tnx. Just trying to make sure that my watch is up to date.
decrepit, is that one an 'Alpha version'
The last Alpha Version I save ends in a C, Perhaps that is the confusion? GW60_ARFW_V1.1G0106C
You should be able to see the vesion loaded in the Utility screen.
I have the one that ends in B... friend has one that ends in C. is that an upgrade, and if it is, where do you get it as it is not on Locosys site.

The clue is the number at the front, Daffy's is
GW60_ARFW_V1.1G0106C
Mine is
V1.3A0926B
The "A" at the front stands for alpha. and "V" is version, so V1.1 is earlier than V1.3.
I think the C was an early test version before it became official and went up on the locosys site. In those days we were given a cloud url to download the latest version.
So, if I understand correctly, Daffy has an old version, and Decrepit has (same as me) a new version. does it matter?
Too long ago to answer that, there were a few crashes early on, later firmware may have solved that. We'd have to compare Daffy's with ours to see.
EDIT just found these release notes from V1.2A0314B. If you start from the bottom you get the version 1s.
I can't find the current release notes.
Looking back through it, it's interesting to see how much input John and I had to the firmware development.

*Supported "X" option for RSLT3B/RSLT4B
[V1.1A0213A]
*Added "SPD DEL" command in setting menu(mike)
*Improved "TIMER" time up indication(mike):(besides buzzer/alarm/bell icon)
The new firmware reverses screen color to get users' attention until any key is pressed.
*Optimized LCM screen redraw driver
[V1.1A0202C]
*Fixed Distance display bug found in V1.1A0127B(tks Mike)
*Revised larger font display for 5X10 and Top Result screens(Mike):
use "MODE" key to manually scroll multiple screens for 5X10/Top Results
[V1.1A0127B]
*Support larger font for 5X10 and Top Result screens(John):
manually scroll to 5#NSEC/Top RSLT screens, wait for 4 seconds
then the larger(mid) font screens will be displayed automatically.
*Support "history max" in result screen(John):
added "TOP" option for RSLT1B,2B,3B,4B.
Now there are 3 possibilities to set each of the 4 speed genie screens:
(P1)BIG font: RSLT A=RSLT B
(P2)Mid font: RSLT A <> RSLT B
(P2.1) RSLT B <>"TOP" :
- will show selected speed in RSLT A in sub-screen A(top half)
- will show selected speed in RSLT B in sub-screen B(bottom half)
(P2.2) RSLT B ="TOP" :
-will show selected speed in RSLT A in sub-screen A
-will show top speed of the selected speed in RSLT A
in sub-screen B
Example:(John's preferred Speed result screens)
Screen# Preferred contents Settings(FW1.1A0127B or above)
-------- -------------------------- -------------------------------
RSLT 1A Last Max -->MAX
RSLT 1B Top Result Max -->TOP
RSLT 2A Last 2 Sec -->MSEC(AVG MSEC=2)
RSLT 2B Top Result 2 Sec -->TOP
RSLT 3A Last 10 sec -->NSEC(AVG NSEC=10)
RSLT 3B Top Result 10 Sec -->TOP
RSLT 4A Last @500 -->&500
RSLT 4B Top Result @500 -->TOP
*Support Stopwatch/Timer in GPS mode(Jonh):
in GPS "SPEED" screen,uesrs can press "MODE/BACK" key to access "STOPWATCH"/"TIMER" functions.

* Please refer to GW60AR_NOTE_V1.pdf for detail firmware operation
* NOTE this is an trial version. The expired date is Jun 30th,2017.

Also is the a way to show NM on the GW-60?

No to NM. Requires far too much processing power I was told. best get a Morion LCD for that or use a cheap Android Phone with GPS-Logit, which is what I do to see NM's. ![]()
Cant help with Alpha versions. I dont use them. ![]()

Have you got a download link for GPS Logit?
When I go to the site and try to download it just says not found, I tired on 3 devices

Yep the alpha is available, but it calculates differently to other software. It arrives at the 50 separation using doppler data. This can be a meter or so different to the positional data the other programs use. So if you've gone very close to the 50m, there'll probably be a difference between the watch and other software in what alphas are shown.
It also doesn't do "short" alphas, min distance is 300m where most other software goes down to 50m or 100m.
You, may have to set it up, using the latest UTIL or the watch adjust button

So here's my set up, (it's in the manual). You can see I have RSLT 3A/3B
set to &500 and TOP. So when it scrolls through I get the last alpha and the best for the session. Speed genie also needs to be set to gybe min speed for it to work. Here I've set 10kts, but I've since reduced that to 7kts, as I'm still getting half reasonable alphas with min speed that low.
And just a further note, "X" means off "O" means on.
so max speed is off, it's not that relevant at 5hz, a 1s average would be more meaningful, and distance and time are on.
The manual says, "don't operate under water". I'd change that to.
Don't operate when wet. pressing the buttons allows the watch to vent, if there's negative pressure in the watch it will suck water in, and water can remain just alongside the buttons. I dry and blow out the water on the buttons before operating. The smallest drop of water will corrode the contacts
