Great article by Izaak Perkins here
www.redsurfbus.com/2012/01/izaak-perkins-joins-40knot-5x10-club.html

It is great news that you have some youngsters coming up the ranks over there, we need more to keep the sport alive. Izaaks article is very well written (I did not need to edit it at all) and charts his progress from his first windsurfing steps to now as one of the fastest multi skilled (able to gybe ;-)) in the world.

Thanks have to go to Izaak for this, and long may the success continue. I for one hope to see his name in the GPS top 10 fun rank very soon.

Enjoy the read, it is a lot better than the crap I waffle on about.

izaak absolutely incredible times the other day mate, and a very well written article. could you tell us a little bit more about the gear you like for the big numbers, your weight/height and also what goes on in your mind when cracking 40knots. do you do any sort of mental preparation/planning or do you just go out and do it?

Hey Bryce, I weigh 68kg, 178cm tall and wear 3kg of lead if needed on speed days. The best combo for me is my new NP RSR EVO4 5.8, JP Speed 45 and my C3 Slingshot 21cm. The kit feels rock solid in all conditions and it gives me complete confidence all the time. Basically i am so familiar with the combo i have mentioned, that i can get the most out of it. I have never been able to hold a 5.8 in a solid 30-35knots and now i can due to alot of time testing and tuning different things. Every time i head out i just go for it. Im always looking for that gust to bear off and get the most out of the conditions... It's a pity my proto weedies never arrived in time from C3,for the sessions at lake George. As i think i would of went yet another level higher.
