I removed the footstrap screw from the board, wrapped it in heavy pink plumbers tape and reinserted to a fair degree of pressure. I don't trust it. Is there a method to repair my stuff up? Thanks for any help given.

Epoxy paste????
This^^^
Someone wth more experience may say different, by id try a thick mix of epoxy paste. Wax up the screw (so theres a thin thin layer on it) smear a good dollop of epoxy paste in the hole and gently screw in the screw to the bottom, wipe off the excess.(not with the footstrap on it
) come back to it 2 days later and unscrew the screw. Will definitely require some forceful gentleness if you know what i mean.
Worth a go. If it were to part ways, its not something thats going to strand you out there. If that doesnt work, it might need a new footstrap insert.
other option is to compromise a bit and live with a different footstrap position.
If all else fails then just tap it to a bigger size. Might have to make the hole on the foot strap a bit bigger to get the bolt through but that should be easy.
Thanks for your replys regards my footstrap error. The only true bolt shop is a 2 hour round trip for me. I still have some old 2 pack Norstik epoxy and f/s anchor points to to experiment with. Started today. Wasn't sure about waxing the screw, WD40 was all I had, so wrapped screw tightly with one and a bit rounds of white plumbers tape..Will give it 2 days and test. Thanks again.
