Massive congratulations to Stroppo from Coastal Speed Team (WA) who punched out the 3rd fastest hour of 29.695knots in the history of the GPSTC (B-Rad from Board Crazy Crew Qld has the hour record with 30.34 which was done at Lake George). Stroppo's hour was completed in Albany WA and included 28 gybes with only a few of those falling under a min speed of 15knots.
Not to be outdone his team mate Tomski also managed a 28.25knot hour (12th on the rankings) which gives them the second best combined hour average ever of 28.97knots*

Super impressive to keep focused and tight for an hour's hard sailing. Super human effort, well done.
Awesome! Well done Stroppo & Tomski. Might have to make trip to the west. Struggling to remember the last time a used a speed board over here.
I was there and its about a 2km run, and the wind was pumping and after each run I'd have to have a break, just don't know how you do that 29/30 times in a row
, However he is human, he said to me he went for a Nautical Mile run after he'd done the hour and said his legs were burning like hell and couldn't manage another one
It was too choppy and I was too powered up for me to attempt a gybe at the southern end, Strop just planed through them as if the chop wasn't there!!!!!!!!!!!
It was truly amazing to watch the pair of them flying around.
Dot took some pics a bit after the hour was finished.
Here's Tom and Steve
The brown line behind them is the bank, where it's almost flat, but the hour was done close to shore where it's not so flat.
And here's Strop, after changing down.
Amazing effort and results, this story should be front page in general, pretty huge really
big congrats that doesn't look to be butter smooth water by any stretch of the imagination either.
Looks so windy that it blew the top of the pyramid in the background,
and the brown line...think that's wetsuit leakage!
How windy and what weapons were they using, its certainly a big story and effort well done fellas.
Dont suppose anyone got any video of the day?
Jonesy I got about 50seconds of helmet cam I will post it in the next few days when I get my computer going again there is a link at the top post with what gear was used!
The only bit of vid I got but better than nothing
Sh$ty work gloves and they are crap made by cheetah only did a few runs with them then of they came!
Yay all hail Strop, that's awesome mate, so glad my trip to WA wasn't wasted and you listened to me
B/S aside, bugger I wish I was still there to enjoy the vib and a rum with you, big congrats to you and Tom
