Trying to organise BBQ and drinks afterwards but will see how it pans out
Saturday has been Red Lighted
Sunday is looking good with 15 - 20 kts SSW (Adrian tells me this is gold for Elwood) however we have a Triathlon on from 9 - 12.30 pm
You will not be able to get into the area during that time. Plan is to run the event from 1 pm to 5pm with races on around 2pm and 4 pm. Looking at trying to organise a BBQ with free sausages
but BYO everything else and maybe extra meat if there are too many people and not enough sausages
Final confirmation Saturday after lunch
Sunday was a great day with big thanks to Adrian(ex RPS) from Elwood Sailing Club for opening up the Club's facilities at the end of the day with a free BBQ
Race 1
Wind was up around 12 - 14kts when everyone was setting up big gear. The race started with most on 8.5mtrs sails but within 10 minutes it notched up to 18 - 20 kts. resulting in a few retirements. There was a little confusion over the boundaries of the virtual racing box resulting in one windsurfer being virtually confused![]()
and sailing up to the channel markers about 1 km outside the box! Pete smartly set up 2 rigs and swapped mid race. Jman was on a 7.5mtr - great choice from local knowledge
Results
1st Jman - continuing on his form from Inverloch
2nd Pete Naz - improving and so close (200mtrs over the 30 minutes)
3rd Spotty
Race 2
The winds stabilised at 18kts so everyone rigged smaller. Wind dropped 20 minutes into the half hour race(Ha you have to love our sport) We wired Adrian up with a GPS and he blitzed them. Solid result. Pete again had two set ups and changed over but was tiring quickly.
Results
1st Adrian
2nd Jerry
3rd Martin
4th Naz
5th Spotty
BBQ was great afterwards with lots of banter, with time for a chat about setting up a Summer twilight or Sunday Afternoon series![]()

To Morgs who rocked up with a GT11 that only wrote text files. With some help from Andrew Daff, I think we can set your GPS up next time to be able to put a result on the board
