Hi, I have just bought a GT-31 to go with the existing GT-11 and I can't seem to figure out how you know what are doppler and what are trackpoint measurements.
Is the difference when recording the data, or is it when interpreted in RealSpeed?
Is there a guide somewhere that describes how to show the doppler data, assuming that what I am seeing is trackpoint?
I have set it up as per Tom's GT-31 guide, but I don't really know when or how doppler is used. I couldn't find the answer when searching the forum but feel free to point out an obvious answer!
Also, this GPS seems to not read over 29 knots. Is this a known firmware bug? ![]()
Mine won't even get that high![]()
It's in the settings in RealSpeed where you can choose Doppler in the
division settings.
GT31 and BGT31 measuring only in doppler. There is no setting to switch between trackpoints and doppler. So if you have GT or BGT 31 all that you have is doppler
Thanks guys.
I guess I missed where the option to use Doppler was, as I was using the pre-configured version of RealSpeed with both a Garmin and a Gt-11. This had the divisions already set up, so I didn't need to look at the way they were configured.
When I opened the other pre-configured version it showed the difference between the GT-11/trackpoint alphas and the GT-31/doppler alphas. When I looked at the categories/divisions, they are already set up for 'doppler if available'.
In the end, the divisions were set for 'doppler if available' in the first version of RealSpeed that I used (Garmin pre-configured) anyway, so all my results would have used doppler when it could.
Thanks again.
