Michael Healy from Quicksilver connections/Green Island resort has confirmed that their organisations are keen to see Green Island Speed Week happen again in 2010.

Locals rates would apply for accomodation/transfer deals again as per 2009.

I'm undecided re dates so would appreciate feedback on this .
TIDES are most suitable on the following dates
June 22-28
July 8-15
AUG 7-12
School holidays are JUNE 28-July 12 2010
MON/TUE JULY 12/13 the tide is really low which would create potentially epic conditions for the Northern Run if the wind "plays ball"

Mcleod St Medical will be a major sponsor again with cash prizes up for Grabs for the first participant to break 40knots on Green Island & the First competitor to break the 30 knot NM during the event .

Any feedback is much appreciated

That's Great news Cam. Green Island is a great place to visit wind or not. The family enjoyed themselves immensely last year. The friendly doctor is even on hand if someone gets unexpectedly sick. (thanks again Cam)

No promises, but if it is in the school holidays I could make it. :-)

Hey Troppo,
Great photo - flat water FNQ style although it might confuse some of our southern speed sailing (flat water) conterparts who think there's a wave sailing comp to speedweek as well.

This is our Eastern Run at high tide in ~35knots-works well with 1.5-1.8m tide -not so well with > 2.2m -Slowie would probably still manage 42-43 knots in these conditions!!

JP that's my photo, it was gusting 40 up the tower that day. Troppo's using a 5.8 Koncept on a high tide and managed to get a 36 from memory That's the same day I did 35 with the mighty Gladiator.

That looks awesome. I could be convinced to give it a go.
If I could fit it in around a get-away locum, it would be perfect. I was planning on doing one around then anyway !!

July (school holidays) would be best for us. If we can get the kids along this year, that would be great.

Dylan.
