Great all-round effort guys, just about everyone got pb's, except Elmo who has very high PB's. It was pretty ordinary conditions but at least some decent wind at times. I got the gust of the day, and hence the 35, Elmo got highest 5 x 10sec average which is probably best indicator of fastest on the day. Decrepit did some great speed PB's and the teams best Distance. Bender did the Alpha peak of the day. Buggsy great effort for a guy who hasn't sailed much in the last 10 years. Shows you how the top 2 in each category could work. with just about every team member contributing.

Hardie: Gusty and all over the place one really good gust which gave me the 35 knots which was brilliant, did a coupla 32's but nothing like the 35.23

Decrepit: Do I have to say very gusty and cold??? went from not able to waterstart, to water going white as if it had snow on it! Great day though, nice to have a few crew around. Not sure about 100kms didn't get 3/4 of the way today and my arms are hanging out!!!
Might be easier in less gusty conditions.

Bender: Today was hard work with the chop. i was struggling till Elmo showed up and let me use one of his spare slalom boards ( i think it should be called the yellow bullet). i found that it gybes really well and it was great to not come off the plane on my gybes and just power out of them. Used my 6-4m X-15 and my new home made 24cm speed weed fin. Am one happy chappy even if i didnt get near a PB

Elmo: Windtech Prolite 900, NP RS4 6.2m, Elmo Weed G10JP32 23cm.
Very gusty up and down session. My riding the windtech got found out today as it's not the most user friendly board in chop. Almost didn't go out due to a balltearer headache.

Me thinks we're going to have to apply a surcharge to the Swan river boys for letting(?) them smoke us lot

Note: Average times in bold denote the fastest time for that team, so that number counts towards the team's total score.

Fantastic effort, it's rare to see so many members of a team all posting on the same date.

Check out the table laid out a bit better here:

Decrepit: I've done 90 odd k's twice now (one of the times was today!) and both times I slogged for a significant portion of the day. So I really think it's possible, all you need is some consistent wind and a good dose of stamina. It will certainly give bragging rights to the first person to crack it!

I'm sure you're right, if I hadn't been doing long downwind runs, then fighting back upwind, through that gusty stuff, I could have gone further. Just nicely powered up with a steady wind and smooth water, it should be easier.
BTW has anybody got any thoughts about downwind runs??
ie. get somebody to drop you off upwind and pick you up downwind, Could get a good hour figure doing that.
Or would that be cheating???

Not if we dont tell anybody
You have a day your going to run it, count me in. I am one of the laziest mongrels about. Just blasting off down wind and not needing to worry about getting back, sounds like a real fine idea

Yesterday was great fun and it really brought home to me what this team challenge is all about.
Getting people together to enhance the stoke of windsurfing and a bit of healthy competition.

Cant wait for the next day.

Cheers Bender

Well done guys,

Good to see a few out and the team cranking, I miss out yet again[}:)]. but oh well home on Wedensday and hopefully huey will play as i also become a local. (moving down the road)

A down winder sounds like fun, not cheating i would have thought but another way for a team to come together and organize a day were it contribute to the challenge. Top Idea ( me lazy too )

I've never actually done it, but I here a lot of guys in the Ledge to Lano complain about cramps and stuff, from basically holding the same, or similar position for an hour or two.
If the wind was good, I could imagine that you could get tired pretty easily.

Hey Grumps, wasn't thinking of holding the same tack, you'd want to gybe every couple of kms I reckon, otherwise you could end up walking sideways.
