Howdy Y'all!

A quick question for all of you speed freaks out there.

I just managed to get ahold of a 07 F2 Missile S (63L), my first speedboard :)

Now for the question, I sail in lots of seaweed and need a fin for that, can anyone suggest brands and sizes that would go with this board?

Btw, I'm 85-90kg and I'll sail the board with a 5.5m2 mostly.

Thank you very much in advance!

I like the Lessacher weed fins. The guys I sail with use the 24cm Chameleon weed fin on their speed boards. While I have been using the Lessacher duo weed fins and been able to acheive 30 knots in weedy, choppy conditions, I have just ordered a Chameleon for myself.

The KA sounds like a real nice fit, unfortunately it seems impossible to even locate a store or webshop that actually carries them (even KA's homepage is out of order). Short of getting REAL lucky finding a KA weed fin locally, what other brands would be considered worthwhile?

Thanks btw for your replies, much appreciated! :)

I found a store selling the KA weed fins, now I'll just have to wait for the package, and alot of wind.

Thanks for the help y'all! :)

Oh, I just realized something, my location is not correct. I'm not in Australia but in Europe, regardless you may be able to order from this store anyway.

Sorry about the location error again :)

Hi Malloy , Yes contact Peter via www.kasail.eu. He should be able to help you out with a 23 cm Speed Fin. I just checked and that website is OK.
www.kasail.com has been on and off all week. Andrew is trying to sort the problem out, not sure how his progress is going, it,s been frustating.
If you have no luck with Peter then send me a PM and we will see if we can sort something out from here.
Regards Martin

Hi Again!

I managed to get an order in from KA-Europe, looking forward to trying it out!

Oceanblue64: Thanks for the info on Lessacher, I'll see if I can get ahold of one of his fins and test it against the KA!

Thanks again y'all, this is by far the best windsurf-related internet forum I've ever seen! :)

Hey Malloy,

If you've got a mate or two also interested in speed sailing, you can join the GPS team challenge.
It's a free, fun, informal, international competition.
If you haven't already seen it check it out here.

Decrepit, that sounds like a great idea. Once I get the boys to get some small speed-sails I'll tell them about the GPS team challenge! :)

Thanks for the fin suggestions y'all, much appreciated!

As a followup question (and a pretty lame one at that). Do any of you know if there is a boardbag producer that has bags for the small speed boards, or do I have to convince the wife that her sewing machine will be awesome for boardbag reconfigurations? :)

That's bizarre - a Danish Texan accent. If only we had audio.

wow...

I managed to try the 23cm fin on my 90liter F2 slalom board yesterday with a 5.5 Vapor... wow... fantastic feeling and so stable I could not believe it. I spend 30 minutes TRYING to get it to spin out, I never succeded. Easily my best purchase of the year!

Originally the fin was supposed to be used on my missile (the 63L) but after trying it successfully on the 90L I am wondering if anyone has any idea if it'll fit with a 6.6m2 too?
Yes I got suckered in, my 09 6.6 Koncept is in the mail :)
