Yeah, they look a lot like the Lockwood/McDougal KA speed fins![}:)]

Yep, it strikes me how similar all the speeds are at Luderitz.
Nothing really stands out and I reckon that's cos sails all behave the same and they all use the same fin, even if they have different brand names.
I suspect it will take the w/surf equiv of VSR2 (ie rad different) before speeds change much.
Luderitz is getting the numbers because of conditions, not tech evolution.

I know what you mean. The tech evolution has been happening over the last 8 years, largely driven by GPS Speed. The difference in the tech used by most of the sailors at Luderitz is small. As you say, the big jump in speeds is mainly down to ideal conditions.

Many of us have been using assy fins at Sandy Point for a long time. They have not been so popular elsewhere, mainly because of the need to sail upwind in difficult conditions. Now that hurdle is dispensed with at Luderitz the assys are shining through.
