One of the guys in my team is needing some help to down load his tracks from his Forrunner so he can post to the GPS Challenge, I have a navi so am trying to help him with my limited knowlege of the forrunner.

I am using Realspeed for my navi and have seen under the tools tab an option to read from Garmin GPS, so is it as simple as him geting Realspeed and connecting his forunner to the pc via the cable supplied?

If that would work I can then help him with realspeed as i am familar with it.

We would be gratefull if someone could maybe post the steps to get the tracks of the garmin.

J,you might need the program G7towin first to get the info out of the Garmin save as a gpx file, then use Realspeed to get the results. Thats what i have to do for the foretrex.Or get a Navi

Yep. Some (or all?) versions of RealSpeed can read the file directly from the Foretrex ( and presumably Forerunner).
Stretching my memory (always a hit and miss proposition), I think you will need to either have a serial port on your computer to use the Garmin cable, or use a 'Serial to USB' adapter. With at least the the latter, you will need to select the correct 'COM' port for your USB connection. Remembering how I used to do that is too much of a stretch, sorry.

I was wondering why George had PB's of 0 on his first posting. You tell me he is quick but too quick for the gps

Dont no what George is up to there, he may need some technical advice as well

There's a few teething problems with our team but we will sort it.
