I'm seeking info about the Garmin F45 watch. I have a GT-31 GPS device but I struggle to read the display when sailing due to spray onto the Aquapac bag and difficulty keeping the display in a readable position on my wrist. I'm not going to be submitting any records (I never have with my GT-31, partly because I'm simply not that fast). I just want something more convenient to read "on the go" to optimize my sailing and beat my own PB. The Garmin F45 looks reasonably priced and its waterproof rating is 5atm (I acknowledge 10 atm would be better). I have struggled to get any info on its capability from Garmin or local sellers - they all cater for joggers and other land-based fitness fanatics. I need to know:
- does it display in knots? (I know the conversion from km/h is easy but would prefer not to)
- does it have the option to display max speed or is it only current speed?
- is the display easy to read?
At $300 it is not a trivial purchase so if it isn't going to do what I want then I'm better off getting a different watch.
Thanks for any insight. Cheers!

Sorry no nothing about the Garmin, but "being too slow" is no reason not to join a team. Being part of a team will help your progression.
If not in a rush for a Garmin wait until someone like Rebel Sport has a sale on then grab a 245 Music for under $300 and use this:

Join a team and post up to share with like minded people. Just remember the Garmin can't be used for this but you are good to go with the GT-31.
Cheers
