Earlier in the year people were talking about reconciling/consolidating teams? At one stage I heard Cremasters wanted to consolidate with Pit Crew, Artheads with OSD, and not sure about the QLD teams. Also some talk about spreading out the talent of the WA teams?

Is this still wanted? You better let Nebbsy and Myself know??

IMHO i think anyone/team that has not posted a session in the last year should be deleted.

On the WA front i feel new members need to be steered towards the smaller teams. Teams should be capped at a certain amount.

SRM dosnt need any more members. Lets spread the talent around.

Team captains need to be notified (about prospective new members) and then get to put it to fellow team members before new members are accepted.

I know of teams that have not met all their teams mates

Overall happy second bithday to the challenge

Almost missed this thread (thanks to Kellie for pointing it out.)

I was going to pipe up earlier, but I really think that team sizes need to be capped. About 10-12 people is where it makes sense to draw the line. I think teams should start the year with no more than 10 members, and be allowed to grow to no more than 12-14 during the year.

If a team ends the year with more than 10 members, it should be split into two teams, according to how the captain/members decide.

Also inactive team members should be asked to "renew" their membership. They shouldn't be automatically cut from the comp, but should be contacted to see if they are just idle because, for instance, they microwaved their GPS or something daft like that.

That is a fairly difficult issue to deal with. On the one hand, sailors should be free to choose what team they want to join. On the other you may get the situation where one team starts to monster and cannibalise others in the state, especially when the best team member from the smaller team is encouraged to join the dominant team.

(edit: spelling)
