It is hard to capture this from the raw data, but I'd think it would be hard to beat the effort of Jacques Kint who with no sailing or windsurfing experience before he began a bit less than two years ago, has gone from 104th ranked in Australia on GTC in 2009 to 10th this year!
And he capped it off yesterday by cracking what looks to be a speed record for Port Phillip bay of 40.13 knots, just beating Spotty's record at Rye in 2009!

Well done mate!!
Jacques was also ranked No. 1 on in the open age division (18-34) in 2010 beating some hack by the name of Slowboat![]()
I would say Kaleb Smith would be up there too. He was a very keen top wave sailor 2 and a half months ago and now has got him self slalom/speed gear and a GPS.
Now leading in Tas GTC rankings and pushing bloody fantastic numbers.
Check out 9 year old Alex's effort today
pretty well dead last in 2010,but is currently ranked 6th in distance for 2011![]()
65 km and had to be bribed with a Mr whippy to get him off the water
