GTC: Changes in Croatia

For start, I wish you all my friend windy new year, and all the best to all of you.

As person who actually start Croatia in international team on GTC, and if you don't know, we are the first international team on GTC, I feel that I am responsable to inform you that Croatia starts 2011 with 8 teams. (When we started there was only 2 teams). Some teams change their names, so new situation on GTC is:

In one word, I am feeling very proud that I was started all of this, and now
we grown in many members (so far 63 registered members, and growing).
I know, we are not that fast as you are, but good time, and knowing new people is most important thing that GTC offer to us.

Neno is young impressive rider from west part of Croatia, near Opatija, he also for the first time tried this year La Franqui, but conditions was not at his side this year. Neno is rider who have many potencional, and we will se progress in 2011

Adi is in one word real soulwindsurfer. All you need to find out about Adi, check out on his page (on English) here www.soulwindsurf.com/
He is the man who have posiibility to ride every year at great spots: Karphatos, Egypt, and he still looking for real speed spot here in Croatia. His outborder scores is much higher then scores from Croatian choppy conditions everywhere...

Tine Slabe, you probably know, he is PWA rider, team mate of Finnian Maynard, and person who together with Findog develope and test RRD's fastest board XFire.
Tine is Slovenian, but, when I started on GTC, I also made 3 Slovenian teams, becouse we are all together at my site, we also challenging together. (So you will notice prefix under each team name: CRO or SLO). Tine is also fast as hell, but many time he just forget to post score :)

Borko and Dodo are young potencial speedsurfers, and they also ride with Neno, same place, same part of Croatia (Borko also tried La Franqui this year with Neno)
Dodo is like braveheart, ride almost every mourning at his plase in god sended everyday mourning termic wind called tramontana :)

Aljo, Mihi are Slovenian hopes with good nunmbers and high milage on the watter. Many for expect from them this year.

New name for this year is Marko Sekulic, Ante Berlengi, Vladan Desnica, they are actually our Croatian top slalom riders, who is in Croatian competition, now we got it here

Oliver Biljman is also new name on GTC, he is the man who have official registered score for Croatia from masters of speed, Namibia (I think It was like 38+ knots on 501 meters)

and Brane and Peka are team mates, riders who have guts to be on every conditions, and every temperature on the water. Brane also have own windsurfing shop and you can check his page here: www.7bofora.com

No matter for overall, there is a many good fast riders, but we need to catch good moment of wind, gust and piece of flat
Many of that scores are actualy made on chop to 50cm, that is for shure ;)
and will be better this year, I know that :)

It reads like the Slovene and Croatian teams will be very strong this year. Well done wkcwarrior for bringing the GTC to your country and getting lots of windsurfers involved.

Also respect to all Slovenian riders, they also need to wake up very early to get at the see, and many times, they sleep in the car to get wind of next day at the spot. We also do it many times, when forecast is ok for 2 or 3 days along.
Heh, hard way is this windsurfing life, and cost lots of money...... :(

Our closer spot to surf is Island Krk, Punat
From my city exactly 285 km
All other spots we must take house rent becouse we can't do driving and surfing in one day. Trouble is that trip costs money, also renting house to sleep and other stuff like paying for fast road, paying on every bridge to cross and so on.
Many times we are just satisfied with local lake, 15 km of my town. We catch good sw wind there, from 20-30 kt, but we need to wait for that forecast. SW is only what is good at the lake, all other winds are gusty and impssible to surf, so when is NE (bora) we need to get to sea, no mather how far it is...
