Give me some ideas or tips how to set correctly joystick on GT31.
Just in case, when joystick is pressed by mistake in ride or fall, to that function do not do any new file or do something, what is the correct way to setup that function ?

SETTINGS>HOLD KEY>MARK

My is setted at MARK, and what that exactly means ?
What is the function of that mark, and how to use commands: SAVE, RESET, RESTORE ?
If max speed Saved and reseted, will GT remember old best max speed ?

Please write some examples of using this function and how is the best way to set it ?
What is happens if HOLD KEY not setted to MARK ?

Sorry Sreck, I've had a few rums with my bride (Fri night) so not sure of the question, but I set my Settings > Hold Key > Key Lock, that way the display just stays where I want. Hope that helps

that is what is ask:

if hold key setted to mark, how to use when press mark: save, reset, restore
(if saved, reseted will leave the max in memory?)

if hold key setted to key lock, what is that means ?

Hold means, the joy stick isn't functional, so any accidental knock has no effect.
Mark means you add a waypoint to the file. This is for navigation, but you can use it for marking hazards on your course.
Think you have to press both buttons at once to activate???

I think "Save," save's to card. Not sure about "reset" but I think it clears the screen. "restore" is the one I use all the time, that brings up all the Max speeds and 10s averages (if you've set "average" to 10s) that way you can work out your 5X10 before you get to the computer. There's also a "cancel/clear" in there as well, in case you want to only see the latest results.

hm i am confused now more then before...
HOLD KEY can be set on MARK or on KEY LOCK or ?
You sail that on HOLD set the jostick is not functional
So, did you mean on KEY LOCK is jostick not functional or ???

And in speed mode when hold key is set to mark, you can save your speed, then reset to zero screen, and repeat this... after that you can restore all you laps to see speed of every lap - that is what i know, but i asked if that reset will keep max in data logger in the end of day?

What is your sugestion how we can all set up hold key ? on mark or on key lock?

sorry warrior, I didn't have the device in front of me, I was operating from my almost defunct memory.
So now I have it here, OK I've just selected "HOLD KEY" Now if I hold the joystick and button down simultaneously for about 2s - 3s, the red light flashes, and a message come up "key locked". Now the joystick no longer works!!! (try it).
Pressing both buttons for 2-3s gets another red flash, and the joy stick works again.

I'm not certain about "reset" but I suspect it clears the current screen to 0 and passes it to speed genie memory, where it gets stored in speed order, (if it's high enough).
I don't think you can clear the internal data logger, from the "speed menu" but you can clear the speed genie memory by the "clear" facility

hm, i've got under settings>hold key: only mark and key lock
when i set to key lock, jostick still work as in mark position
but when i am in speed mode when i press joystick for cca 3 sec, red light flesh and hear beep, in that case jostick is dead and gt is allways in speed mode (as you set, like on max speed). deactivate is same story, press for few sec and after red light and beep joystick is full functional

just i can figured out what is difference in settings mode between mark and key lock (maybe if is on mark you can't enable key lock or something...)

so, under hold key i've got only MARK or KEY LOCK

????????????

IN MANUAL STAY THAT:
At any stage, press In and Hold the TS to activate hold key function. The hold key function can be defined in [SETTINGS] /[HOLD KEY]. If [MARK] is defined, HOLD KEY will save the current location if available, as a new waypoint. If [KEY LOCK] is defined, HOLD KEY is used to lock or unlock TS and ESC. The key icon() shown in status bar indicates the unit is in key lock stage.

(where TS is thumb stick)

so if is in settings seted to mark, by pressing TS GT saves waypoints (use only for navigation)
for windsurfing, hold key must be set to KEY LOCK - in that case on every screen, like on max speed you can freeze screen and disable joystick. Pressing again for few sec that option is disabled - working just fuine, now i tested it
But, whe is in settings setted to mark, key lock outside don't works

MISTERY SOLVED :)
