After my last sesh my GPS got plugged into the PC and I fired up NaviLink II as per. Chose the port, clicked connect and up she came with my model, username and serial, but the next four entries were blank - most distressing, zero log.data. I don't sail with a SDCard, but thats never been a problem - usually it captures log on the inbuilt memory...I use the read command from the log.data tab on the NavLlink software and get a GPX file of my session.

But clicking read now produces nothing but the word 'Failed' in the message box, and I get nothing. I put a card in the GPS and tried a save to card, but I have no reader for a card so hopefully it's got my sesh copied there, but I can't tell.

I've not changed settings between the working- and fubar- sessions.

Google brought me nothing...so any ideas/anecdotes/eulogies welcome.

when you hit "save to card" did you get the response "new file" with a progress bar, taking a minute or so to complete, and the word "success" afterwards? If that happened you've successfully transferred the data logger to the memory card, but you won't know if your latest session is on it until you read it. Card readers aren't very expensive, hope you find your data OK.

Before you can save to the SD card you must format it Fat16. Best done in the GT-31. If that succeeds, then do save all to card as above.
