I use the Paqua. Aquapacs just aren't tough enough for GPS sailing. They split and the fine plastic gets holes too easily. I have drowned two mobile phones and a GPS in the aquapac. I changed to a Paqua (a couple of years ago now) and no dramas since.

Put this together today, bit unusual, but might be okay. Cheapo action cam from Kmart for $30, ditch the cam, bit of 3M VHB tape, voila. I will probably seal the buttons a bit more permanantly before first outing. Fits the micro GP102 perfectly.

Nice one! I look forward to hearing how it goes - if it is a winner I will copy you :-)

Hey Seaskip -I am just wondering can you see the canmore display through the camera lens port - better, worse, or no diff?

Clever Seaskip. Wouldn't it be great if they integrated an audio jack for waterproof earphones so you can hear your speeds.

The display lines up really well. No visible difference though. I was thinking it might be possible to get an adhesive magnifiing lens or something. i don't look at the numbers until de-rig so not an issue for me.

To follow on with Seaskip's idea, I found these knock off Go Pro Hero3+ housings on Ebay for $1.65
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-Camera-Lens-Cover-Waterproof-Housing-Case-Protector-for-GoPro-Hero3-Hot-/251642589944?pt=AU_Cameras_Photographic_Accessories&hash=item3a971132f8

My question is, how big internally is a GoPro 3+housing? The canmore ideally needs 73mm length. The lanyard hook could be cut off to make it 67mm long. If someone has a Go Pro 3+ housing, could they please measure the internal length for me?

Fangman, I have cut the lanyard hook off to fit a bit better in mine, but it still doesn't fit in my GoPro case.

Had a sail today using the Camera case/GPS pod. I used a re-sealable bag as a backup inside case. No water entered the pod after more impacts than i would have liked and data was recorded faultlessly. Like the paqua, if you open it whilst wet, it would be hard to close without moisture entering. It is easier to wipe dry than the Paqua.
I will continue to use it.

you can't keep a dedicated tight arse down. I found someone selling a secondhand 'old fashioned ' underwater camera case on eBay that looks to be about the right size for 99 cents ( plus postage - doh! ). So I am going to give Seaskip's idea a try too.

"old fashioned"..? You might fit the GT31 in that .
I have explored my tightarsicity and have sold the camera online (minus the housing of course).
Which brings my outlay down to $14.50 (plus resealable bags - doh!). Still no water inside after 3 sessions.
Hooksey, sorry for hijacking your thread, to respond to your question, I have been using the Paqua "midi" for over a year, and have gone through 2 in that time. I am in need of a third at the moment as there is moisture inside after each session. Cheers.

Yes apologies Hooksey. I used a aqua pac with duct tape. My old fashioned camera case is an epic fail! Its massive!! I am heading off to Kmart.
