I got myself a navi for christmas and got to use it yesterday. It was squally and about 15 to 30 knots, choppy onshore conditions with the gusts usually coinciding with heavy rain. I just wanted to see how fast I was on my normal gear so was on my F2 XTC 103 with a 6.4 KA Kult and the busted ass old stock fin. Nearly managed 30 knots! I was surprised. Here is a link to KA72 if anyone is interested. I could really get into this speed thing if I could find a better spot around here. Any GPSTC teams up this way that want a new member?

Hi Jarrod, nice speeds mate Have a chat to Big Phil Palmer in Mackay re FNQM, I think we have the only team covering the north and yeh I'm happy to help. We have a great team consisting of guns & clowns, females & males, young & old We cover open ocean and dam 99% of the time, no gay flat water show ponies here

Hey Jarrod, now the bait is cast you'l be unable to stop yourself. Troy and I walked the sandbar opposite Dudgeon Point yesterday, sail out from McEwans Beach. Looks like a promising spot at about mid tide for N-NEly and high tide SEly. Might call in later this week if your home when I'm in town.

Thanks for the encouraging words fellas the bug has bitten for sure and already caused me to buy a more appropriate fin. We'll see how long it takes for the infection to spread to the rest of my kit!

Phil that sandbar sounds interesting, I'd definitely be in for some testing The mouth of Bakers Creek might be worth a look too, although the biteys like places like that.
