With posters wondering about my strange fascination with even circles of latitude I recalled the degrees of confluence website.

Check it out, they compete to be the first to get to the even crossings of lat/long. Once there, by whatever means, they take a picture in all 4 directions, along with the picture of the GPS showing the line of zeros on the dial. They are not the pictures you'd normally take when on holiday so they are a real unbiased snapshot of anywhere on earth.

There's a confluence point in Lake Superior that was visited by a couple of Canadians on Wallys I seem to recall. There's also one in NSW at 37S 150E that has yet to be done! Only 7km off shore from Eden (They only count points within site of land) There'd be a bit of glory to bag that one by windsurfer.

There's two to be done south of Barcaldine and Longreach very near properties I've been to before. Am out there in a fortnight too but time is limited. Oh how disappointing I can't get all geeky and do my little bit for the confluence society.
