Finding your distance???

Hey guys,

I was just wondering when you open your tracks on real speed, where you find the total distance you have travelled on that track. At the moment i have just read it directly off the screen on the GPS but i thought there has to be a better way to do it than that. Also when i share with my old man or my brother, i want to get the distance for each of us and not us all together.

EDIT: The second table on the top right of real speed shows distance, but theres heaps of them to look at and none are even close to what the GPS showed. All help appriciated thanks.

Also, if you print the results, the total distance is printed at the top of the page.

There are 2 columns, one is track point distance the other doppler distance.
Think they are marked, "total distance" & "doppler distance" If you are posting doppler data, go with the doppler distance.

Good question, if the trackpoint is greater, there's probably a satellite reception problem.
I've found if there are no "invalids" the doppler distance will be a little bit more, it maty be something to do with going round corners. Trackpoints are a series of straight lines around the inside of the curves, so that will give slightly less distance. Don't know if doppler does the same thing or not, I could be way off here.

But as doppler gives a lower short time speed reading, I think it's fair enough to use doppler for distance, kind of evens things up, and it doesn't give the hugely inflated figures caused by false trackpoint excursions.
