Can fins be converted to be both PB & Tuttle?

ie - put another brass lug & matching hole in the centre of a Tuttle boxed fin so it goes in either?

I don't mean changing the board, only the fin.

Has someone tried it before? Pros cons?

It cant be done with the same head as they are a very different shape. The PB head tapers away from the fin base. The Tuttle is parallel sided.

Over the years there have a been adapters that came on the market to try and make fins interchangeable. The one I tried was a semi-permanent type, PB to Tuttle, where you hacked away some of the head to fit in the adapter and then pinned it in with brass pins. I used on for a while but the fin eventually broke off at the (weakened) base.

The best solution is to re-mould the base, but it is still not interchangeable of course.
