For Australian GPS sailors, WindWanderers is sponsoring our Fast February 2025 GPS sailing competition.
www.ka72.com/FastFeb-2025
The competition is open to Windsurfers, Wingdingers and Windfoilers sailing in Australian waters during the month of February 2025. You can join any time during the month and a leaderboard and divisions will be up for the whole month (backdated to the beginning of the month if you join late.) Thanks to WindWanderers there will be a number of randomly distributed prizes for those who upload a track to the comp.
This is similar to previous KA72 social competition events, but it's the first we've run for a few years, so getting the infrastructure dusted off and working again has been ... a challenge ... to put it mildly.
WindWanderers chose the divisions, and there are a number of novel ones that I am pulling together now to be ready for the weekend influx of tracks (good forecast here!)
Snorkel has posted in the main windsurfing threads here: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/General/Windwanderers--KA72-Fast-February
but I thought it was worth mentioning here too where there are more GPS users.
If you have any technical questions, feel free to post here on this thread, or send me an email to dylan@ka72.com

Thanks Dylan, I'm in, 99.9% mainly to support your efforts to maintain KA72. Been the best resource for a newbie to see tracks/history of locations. Whole new world for me.
Hi Dylan,
When I press the checkout button to put in credit card info it goes nowhere? I dont have or use Paypal.
Cheers Phil

If you hit the PayPal button, there is a button labelled "pay by card" and then you can checkout as guest (without having a PayPal account.) Sorry, PayPal puts the checkout button on my page, but it doesn't do anything. I'm looking at improving that for next time.
Alternatively, you can contact me at dylan@ka72.com to arrange alternative payment methods that work better for you.
Cheers,

A stack of tracks posted on the first day of Fast Feb. The results page is up at www.ka72.com/Competitions/Fast-February/Fast-February-Tracks and will be extended as the month progresses with leaderboards and breakdowns.
If you join after the 1st and have tracks from before when you joined, they will appear in the results pages with no calculated results (just blanks in the columns.) Just click through to your overlay and the Fast Feb results will be worked out immediately and added to these tracks.
Over 10,000km of tracks logged so far in Fast February! Leaderboards page is at www.ka72.com/Competitions/Fast-February/Leaderboards
Over 23,000 km's sailed in the month logged so far... in over 37 different locations!
A windy day in Qld tomorrow ...time to even put my hour in :) ...last day!
By popular request ...Fast Feb has been extended to 'Mad March' ...load up to KA72, stay safe,, you know Alfred would!

By the way, nobody mentioned this to me, so I have no idea what Jonesy is talking about. But it was a really well supported competition, and thanks to everyone for making February fun! And we will definitely focus on these kinds of things again. As of right now (assuming everyone has their data loaded) we had 444 individual tracks posted to the competition during the month of February and over 23,000km of combined track length. Leaderboards at www.ka72.com/Competitions/Fast-February/Leaderboards
Special mention to Kellie, who dragged herself out yesterday covered in bruises from a crash earlier in the week and wingdinged ALL DAY in very unhelpful gusty winds to finally record a 50km result for the category, and to everybody else who stretched themselves well done too!
