chatted to Jurjen on FB and he said that they were running at approx 120deg off the wind and the course was choppy,if it was flatter/broader they would have gone even faster
Jurjen just posted his world record session on GPSTC with a 50.51kn 2 sec peak and 48.4 5x10sec

Links to several bits of data, Jurgen scored the fastest average, Hans scored the best ever 10 seconds.
Erik Loots has also done an article, all links from my page, also if you havent joined the Ghosts of Speed stalkerbook page then please do so (again the links are up on the article), they have dedicated a lot of time resources and money to making a film for us all!
I have done a fair amount of editing now to the article....confused the record with the 5xranks first. An foremost I claimed it was the fastest recorded which it is not, that still goes to you guys way down there so I have included a little bit about Spotty and Lockwoods 49knots 10 second runs.
I guess the whole record thing complicates it a lot, I understand the ratification process but is it really that necessary I wonder???
Not as fast as 2 weeks ago...but still pretty damn fast!

Conditions where difficult and we saw a high number of crashes with 2 people seriously injured
.
Belgian surfer Benjamin Verdin broke his wrist/underarm and Dutch Formula Champ and worldcupper Dennis Littel probably broke his collarbone.
