Hi Everyone,

My new computer doesn't have a serial port so i have purchased a cable that is usb to go into the computer and has a serial port to connect to garmin gps cable. Realspeed is connected but the computer keeps saying "uknown device and wont let me download.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I think the only solution is to get a NAVI

Hi Carl, I think most Garmin users have a program called g7towin, use this to download your file as a GPX file that Realspeed will recognise. I tried it with my mates Garmin but no go, so I found a program called EasyGPS which worked for us.

I have a Navi but hope this helps.

My cable adaptor is a A-ten brand and works well but is very tempremental about which Port to use. I use the program called G7toWin which Firie mentioned. You may have to go into File...Configuration and try setting on different ports untill you find which one works. Or you can locate the cable in your Device Manager it will tell you which port it works on. The other day I saw a USB adaptor with a Serial socket on the end of it....It is the size of a Flash Drive and my mate bought it on Ebay for about $10.
G7to Win also allows you to download the display from your Garmin.
