Glascraft are holding a Demo Weekend on the 8th and 9th of December at Goolwa Aquatic Centre.
We will be putting on a BBQ and drinks. Range of Starboard and MauiSails on offer.
11am til 4pm
Team will be on hand for technical questions, rigging advice and technique.
Grass rigging area, playground and shops near by. Bring the family and friends.
Looks like there is some racing the same weekend at Goolwa (murray mouth) with the KA Sails summer of speed round 2. So grab some demo kit and join in.![]()
Great, I will forward you the rego forms. Support through participation is certainly a very good way for the local shops to contribute to competions that ultimately drive sales of high end racing gear. It would be good to see representatives from both the local shops on the water establishing credability and supporting people like Chris Dimond who puts alot of time and effort into running these events.
So Brett and Martyn we look forward to seeing you their next weekend![]()
P.S. I dont think Maui even made to top 10 in last weeks speed event.![]()
Ah, that could be for a number of reasons:
a. Only 10 sailors took part in the event
b. TR-3s have just arrived into SA
c. No-one at the event rides MauiSails
d. Most speed sailors in SA are KA "ambassadors" (what a joke!!) or think they are getting a good NeilPryde deal....
If I'm not too busy at the demo I'll come down.
Tino,
Your comments are noted.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could aid in the growth of our local windsurfing scene by supporting local competition.
And you're a local retailer......
I'm more than happy to help grow the sport, I'm lucky enough to be part of the PWA for a few years and know that the SA scene is difficult. Just trying to juggle many things at the same time.
As I said, I'll be trying to do both this weekend.
Hey guys,
I love that fierce competitive spirit!
I started working for Glascraft just before all the changes around in Brands between shops/importers etc. and was asked which brands we should be trying to secure.
My first choice was to get MauiSails and thankfully we are now the MauiSails Importers for Australia.
Obviously we are now Starboard dealers which has been extremely successful for us so far. We had the opportunity for other board brands, but none have a range as complete as Starboard.
I was actually stoked when we parted from Pryde and JP etc, I've never been a fan and it gave us the opportunity to get other brands.
As far as KA goes, I was looking at getting their sails because we had requests for the brand, but unfortunately they are and will continue to sell thier sails at ambassador program prices to virtually everyone which makes it an unviable proposition.
Most people think I'm a dreamer because I keep telling everyone windsurfing is going to be as big as it was when I started (1981). But I truely think it could be if the windsurfing community and the shops worked together towards that goal.
if you have ideas to improve and/or grow the sport in SA feel free to drop in and have a chat.
Cheers,
Muzza
*DEMO DAY UPDATE*
Due to the water level at Goolwa and the weather forecast we are moving the Demo days to Milang. (near the caravan park and boat ramp).
Milang has shops, pub, toilets and playgrounds so still bring the family along and make a day of it.
Look forward to seeing everyone there.
Sorry if the move has caused any inconvenience.
For you speed sailors who can't make it because of the speed event this weekend, feel free to drop into the shop and arrange a demo of the MauiSails TR-3's -
(World's fastest sails & only sails to do over 50 kts).
