Wineman is right. There is a little sandspit opposite the sailing club that shows itself at low tides. The run is only about 200m before you have to run away from the bank and head out in to the chop. Yesterday was about as good as this spot can get with a super low tide leaving the bank exposed for a few hours rather than the normal 1-2. Wind for the spot is perfect from the SSW which is what we pretty much got yesterday at around 25 knots with gusts a fraction over 30.
My kit was the Naish Speed Pro 60 with TM45 23cm fin and a 4.6 RS Racing. A little bit underdone except on the biggest gusts. The 5.4 would have been the best option but I'd already loaned that out to Brett who had his first crack at speedsailing. He hit a 39 with a Falcon 79 and the 5.4.
Rick was on his Arrows 5.8 and old school Drop 8'10" slalom board. To hit a 41.5 on that kit is amazing. Have to get the big fella down to Sandy Point on some proper speed kit.
Big Wayno was also a bit of a stand out sailing all session on a 6.5 and 105L board hitting around 37 knots.
Not too many days come around like this so it was good to see it not go to waste.

Well done mate, sensational effort to all who were there also. Amazing to think there is almost a 2 square metre difference in the sails people had up in the same conditions. I guess it just goes to show the high limits of what modern kit will handle.

Yep I'm impressed too. Cool Sam, well done on the PB. I'll be definitely making a point of turning up to those Wednesday twilight sessions to pick your brain, annoying you for the rest of the summer!
