In the last 2 years in Australia The Pit crew Lat 39/40 and Tassie Speedseekers Lat 42, have dominated the Australian GPSTC, and the Dutch Teams Lat 50 have dominated the international gpstc! The first 3 yrs of the gpstc were dominated by SRM from perth, at lattitude 31/32 which suggests yes. Those 3 years were consistently windy throughout in WA, and Tassie hadnt joined yet, and when they eventually did, were just learning and finding new spots and new team members. The 4th year saw the introduction of the Northern Hemisphere teams, who blew us all out of the water!! Obviously the lattitudes 40 to 50 have much stronger winds, and when you see big speeds coming out of Sandy Point, Tassie, Holland< germany, ENgland, ya think no way can we compete with that? Doesnt stop my fun, or comparing like with like, but they just seem unbeatable![]()
No wonder the FNQ Mob carn't dominate the GPSTC! We mainly sail at Lattitude 16!
Nice and warm though![]()
Latitude 34 seems pretty good at the moment ...
