I took the navi11 for a drive up the coast today. I know for sure I was doing 120 kph for some (or a lot) of the drive but when I pull the track into rspeed it reports a max speed of 49.9 knots. It should be about 60. What can this mean?
Maybe it means my 30.5 knots pb is REALLY 36 ...YES.
could be signal problems inside the car?
could you check the display while you where driving?
what does the track look like? Is it full of red lines?
You recording in doppler or track point?![]()
Sounds weird
My two Navi GT-11's when I got them still had the test run file (45 k distance)from factory in Tiawan. So I know they do actual tests on them. The do this on motor bikes.
Signal was ok I think.
I didn't watch the real time display.
Track is complete there and back.
Yes there are red lines - not a hell of a lot. What do they mean?
<ed> Yes it is full of red lines.
<ed again> Recorded max speed is 66 knots - sounds about right.
I don't know if I'm recording in track points or doppler. The file is a text file with lots of track points on it so I assume its track points. I thought doppler was just about the real time speed calcs.
The red lines, are what realspeed considers to be invalid, usually due to lose of satellite signal.
Think what Mineral meant was are you calculating from doppler or trackpoint data.
Doppler is more reliable but normally gives a lower result to trackpoints, but only fractions of a knot. (faulty trackpoint data can give wrong very high speeds, as far as I know, not low speeds)
Hey David, it could be that the max speed setting is still set to 50 knots. Go into Tools/Options and set the Speed Threshold to 100 or some other impossible speed. This should allow the max speeds to show up in the results.
