A lot of people use Mal's RealSpeed for analyzing their tracks. For those that are unaware there are other programs which they can use which they may find more to their liking.
The original program designed for speedsailors and offered free was GPSActionReplay by Yann, a French university lecturer who enjoys speedsailing. This has many nice features and is still available but it only does gpx files. When everyone started going to Doppler recording with the Navi/GT-11 Yann reworked it , added even more features , called it GPSActionReplay Pro and charged a small fee for it in line with the competition. Snides uses this and only has good things to say about it..like "absolutely brilliant". It has so many features it takes a bit of use to realize it’s potential.
At the moment the analysis program that I find most useful when looking at tracks is GPSResults from Manfred who has been at the forefront of gps use for speed measurement for years. It has so many nice features. See sample pic of what it looks like if you want to analysis a particular run (tick vicinity and points) and you can see clearly the second by second progress of your track. It is easy to add a background image or with a mouse click (File> Google Earth Overlay) it will open your track in a seperate window on GoogleEarth. It shows not only how many satellites but which ones you're tracking in the bottom right corner. (12 yesterday at Pt Walter !! )
Anyway, if you want to try them you can download GPSResults for a free 30 day trial at www.gps-speed.com and GPSActionReplay Pro also for a 30 day free trial at gpsactionreplay.free.fr/index.php?menu=4
It is handy also to have all 3 programs as they all do some things better than the others and it is also handy to check any unusual results.
