That is one I had not seen. Lots of good history there, especially more details about the tandem records. That record stood until Luderitz 2012! I am still convinced that 40 knots+ is quite possible on a tandem speed board. 
It also highlights just how far ahead of the pack Pascal was at that event! He must have peaked at well over 40 knots to go 500m at an average of almost 39 knots.
