this weekend at lake lefroy the landyacht VINDICATOR was hampered by light winds but managed to record 123.3kph in a wind of 12knts.
that was on smooth but slightly sticky afternoon salt. Bill Finch was sailing the yacht for the first time in 3 years . Bill designed and built the yacht back in 1992, and achieved his best speed of 144.1kph back in 1993.
. this is the first time we have managed to get video,GPS and wind measurements all timed together.
now for more wind!

as I was busy filming and stressing out about my yacht I took only a few photos , but others are sending to me.so ASAP I suppose.
You would have needed a huge zoom lens as Bill was about 6-8kms away during each of his runs, barely visible to the naked eye. At one stage he got bogged and the wing was pointed towards the camera . I lost him for over 20 minutes until he started to move again..
As the pilot of the yacht this can put you off trying to give it your all , but you have to blank out the thought of injury ,bogging, or breaking the yacht and having to walk back, so getting bogged really put the wind up Bill
