All this rain has me thinking how cool it would be to drive out to the outback to a huge flooded plain that is deep enough to windsurfing on....
Maybe its just the hangover speaking and the slightly warmer weather - but how fun would that be - providing you don't impale yourself on a submerged tree...
When we had floods about 3yrs ago, there was a section of highway that is elevated about 2m above the flood plain. The water was lapping at the bitumen so we had a dead straight road for 5km with 2m deep water either side. The road would stop any chop, it would be like a sandbar that you could sail even closer to than the sandbar at most speed courses ..... about half a metre away form the road.
BUT no wind! I was begging huey for a 40kn westerly !!!!
I know how you feel mark . I have a fleet of flat bottom shallow draft boats, and hate having to watch the news that somebody somewhere is stressing about what i would call my ideal holiday![]()
then when there is a big lake somewhere to sail Im too bloody broke or have to be somewhere else
