Hi all. Sailed Rockingham today (safety bay) nice 5.3mt & 84lt. Think the wind direction was sw? Apparently the winds swinging se? If so can you recommend a good spot. I'm in Mandurah at the moment. Thanks guy's. On holiday here at the moment so not very up to date with the coast.
Wait for the seabreeze in the afternoon, don't be tempted with the offshore wind.
But if you really must sail the SE as it will be your only chance for a week, for ocean it is south side of Woodman Point and be farken CAREFUL, or safer option anywhere in the Peel inlet , sure the mandurah crew will chime in soon with the actual locations
Safety bay is good for SE as well, and still mostly onshore in case of issues. Nice sandbar that runs out for a km or so to some rocks that u can sail along. SE can be unreliable tho

Hi plumberman, Try rigging up on John Street, Coodanup, at the top of the Peel estuary. In a SE there an awesome run across the smooth.....you will need a small fin, preferably a Delta, as it's weedy and shallow....hey, we all used to know someone like that back in school.
Depth is knee to waist deep. If there are locals there you might be able to scrounge a Delta....otherwise 23cm fin will work. Might see you out on Thursday morning.
Thanks guy's for the information. May have a look at Safety Bay Wed? If not so good I May paddle in the estuary at Mandurah. See ya on the beach ![]()
Have only got a freestyle wave 84lt board and wave sails so not sure if my kit would be suitable there? Unless it's honking?
