just finished a slalom board thanks to many guys especially decrepit and Mr. No-one
if you need any help building a board these guys know there there stuff
Sorry, but I think you have me confused with someone else. You might want to recheck whatever thread you had before. I'm pretty sure I had nothing to do with any board building advice. Interesting looking board though. ![]()
there was a Mr. No-one
on this site who done a wave board and there was a thread on hotwireing if it wasn't you i'm sorry
No problem. Just didn't want to take credit for someone else. That Mr No-one should change his name. Too much confusion around here. ![]()

You must have a great Missus,
- allowing you to build your board inside, on the cofee table, over the carpet and all.
I get booted into the garage for my projects !![]()

i used fgi RO45 as a skin and to seal the filler coat, its as tough as and hard to sand , the paint was 2 pack northane marine grade, the box is a tuttle
Just curious, how much did it cost to build your own board like that? What tools, equipment, etc. did you have to get your hands on? Brand new boards are so expensive these days, did you save anything by making your own? Or did you do it purely to end up with a better product?
Cheers
Bubs
the board cost about $800 that's with a block of foam 600x600x2500 i think, and carbon, resin, microballons , ect left over for another board , thats if i make another one
i dont think you make a board to get a better board , you make a board to suit the way and the conditions you sail, what im hopeing to achieve is to have a lower volume board and a smaller sail and plain as early as a board with bigger volume and sail
you see i sail in very flat conditions and im sure the manurfacturas dont make boards just for those conditions , im hopeing to be planeing(off the fin) with a n.p 5/8 slalom
in 15nts, ill let you know on sunday it looks good for saturdays maiden voyage
