Somehow showed potential , ( board rode a little higher and planed through lulls better ) , to aid light wind planing but it only worked in fresh water , ( go figure ) ? Maybe too much drag in saltwater . Lost interest . May revisit and change angles one day .
Absolute crap idea to make it plane earlier . I suppose it did a little , but it made a crap board even crapper !
Foil on RB , a copied idea . It is a good idea and works . Ive only tried three times so im still in crash mode . Had a few short , kinda controlled flights.
It was light gusty wind with an 8.7 sail. Have high hopes of this working.

Although this is not my invention , V gripping a boom before covering is absolutely fantastic . Very high recommendation .

did you write about this project somewhere in more detail?
I thought about adding to slot boxes on a 150liter 270x80cm board.
But the reason being shallow water. The spot I sail at most of the time I can only use a 25cm (seaweed) fin safely, and sometimes only 20cm fin.
I guess 3x 25cm fin would be better than just one. But one long fin still beats the 3 fin setup for freeride/freerace boards.
I have also seen an interesting early planning/ freeride board with 3 powerbox fins made here in Germany

The added side fins was an earlier addition before the board extension . It was for shallow water . I was using the board for teaching , which worked quite well . Ive seen a review , ( and pics ) , where someone used three shallow weed fins on a formula board . He said it worked well.
I think it would work good on your board . Be aware that a three fin set up usually has toe in on the side fins . If your using larger side fins , it may slow the board . I would think parallel fin boxes would be best .
I have a 110 litre mistral slalom that pepe has added a couple of parallel tuttle boxes to enable fangies to be sailed on lowish tides.
just have to talk him in to knocking me up a couple of fins to suit.
it still has the original tuttle in place as well.
Still my favorite, "you've got to be kidding!", invention for windsurfing.
Eliminate that pesky harness, it just gets in the way, and you never wanted to let go anyway, right?
Another bonus, it makes gybing so much easier, all you have to do is grab the mast with just your fingertips, kid's stuff.
