Thanks for making the video, is there a way to reduce the glare on the upper half of the screen?, makes it hard to see the water and land in front of you, thanks if you can!

sorry sandman ..yeah its the time of year where the sun is low and it was shot 12-2 pm where the sun is right in ya face ,I have taken most of the glare out with iMovie without making look like night ,but I can seem to get it any better with my go pro session ,sorry it is what it is crap really ,I will try my other go pro see if it's any better and is it the go pro itself ,it still has me stumped why its so glared,I wonder if I should cut a piece of car window tint and put that on ,put some shades on the mother ![]()

Or a polarizing filter, they made them for the old 35 mm SLR camera lenses. Just rotate the polarizing filter until the glare is mostly gone and then fix it in place, somehow, if the GoPro does not have a threaded area on the lens to screw filters on to.
could buy some $5 polarized sunglasses from Walmart and pop out one lens and fix over the GoPro lens!
yeah I might try the window tint first ,easier to lick when keeping the water off ..but there has so much footage spoilt by too much glare ..limo tint will fix it ,
going to sail WA this summer so need to fix it .

tint may just reduce the light intensity equally across the whole screen, making the lower part too dark when the upper is not too bright. A polarizing filter will eliminate the light reflected off the water, without reducing light intensity for the rest of the screen too much.
Here is one on Amazon for the Hero 10, $15, it is a circular polarizing filter, will really eliminate the glare.

Looks like a great place to sail.
If you can change the exposure on the Go pro to underexpose that will save the highlights. Then depending on your editing software , you can lighten the shadows in editing..
I do that with my camera but it's been so long since I've used my Go Pro I can't remember if it's easy to adjust the exposure on it..![]()
Try Googling adjusting the exposure on the model of your Go Pro
The later Go Pros cope better with glary scenes.
ok thanks guys ,I will investigate ,as it is a problem ,the session is very simple like me it my not have the adjustment ,mr google will tell me ,I'm usually in a big hurry when i go sailing and just grab the GoPro on the way out ,charge it on the truck on the way down and hope for the best .
just ordered a CPL filter for a session .thanks sandman
you are welcome Tardy, looking forward to your next video!

Sounds like me.
I don't often do B & J and rarely get decent jumps..
I had one session where I felt I went really well but I missed the best jumps and a midair stack because I didn't check the Go pro.
The SD card was almost full and ran out after the first half hour just before it got good...![]()
That place looks great, got to love the colour of the water! ![]()
Here I rarely have problems with glare, as there is rarely any good wind without rain:
