I have a sailworks Revolution 6m sail. When I tighten the sail the plastic semicircular bracket that sits against the mast that the sail batten slots into sometimes slips out of place. (what is this bracket called?)
I'm new to this type of sail rig and just recently bought a 2nd hand windsurfer after many years break so I guess I'm doing something wrong with my sail rigging. Its the batten just above the boom.
Its extremely frustrating as i have to loosen every thing off to fix it.
Also does anyone have a good video link to how I thread the sail to the mast foot?
Would greatly appreciate some advice with this.
That bracket you are asking about sounds like a camber inducer, most commonly referred to as a cam (I thought the Revos were wave sails though so maybe I'm misunderstanding). There are different methods to rig cammed sails so it would be best to check the sailworks website for a rigging guide. They also have photos of how to thread the downhaul.
Thanks for the tip. A friend got me to pull the downhaul much further down the other day and the cams seemed to sit much better against the mast.
Hi there. My sails have these cams as well and I pull out the outhaul to almost the full extend, downhaul still quite loose. Like this it is easy to push the cams onto the mast. Once that is done you adjust downhaul first, then check your outhaul and presto your ready to go.
