My old isonic 111 is my most used board, especially at this time of year, but it is old. The bottom is cracking and the deck grip is almost gone. I could get it repaired but I would probably do better to upgrade it.
I like the isonic. I find it really easy to gybe and it planes early in light wind. It gets me going sooner than most others.
If I could I would buy another board the same, but the 111 has not been made for years.
I would prefer to stay with starboard.
Should I go with the 97L 67.5 cm wide, or the 107L 72 cm wide? A 107 is currently available locally, no 97's.
The 111 isonic is 68.5 cm wide.
The 97 is standard tuttle and a 107 is deep tuttle. My fins are standard tuttle.
I am 73kg, and this board would be used on flattish water, less than 14 kn of wind, with a 7m sail.
I am open to other brand suggestions also - but I am a second hand board buyer, not new.
I use standard tuttle fins in my old Falcon which has a deep tuttle, fins fit fine, only have to use longer bolts, the 107 would be ideal board, more to do with the width.

I agree with Choco, in this case it's irrelevant, standard will fit in deep, but deep won't fit in standard.
Fins aren't designed to bottom out in the box, they are meant to be located by the taper.
Due to variations in fins and boxes, this doesn't always work well, then if the fin is loose you can use shims to get it right.
If it's too tight, a decision has to be made if it's the fin or the box that has to be adjusted.
Hey Anita, What do you like best about the 111?
I think the 97 is going to feel much closer to what you're used to with the 111, with a bit more speed potential. The cost might be a little bit of bottom end planing ability. I've not compared the tail width numbers, but knowing what a 111 looks like, and what a newer 97 looks like, I'd dare to say the 97 has a bit less tail width than your 111. The newer boards have a bit less tail width, but more volume in the tail, so they give you a "floatier" tail in a different way than width.
The 107 on the other hand, at our weight category they feel like much bigger boards, so it'll give you more bottom end planing ability, but you'll sacrifice some of the top end speed potential. They're great boards to ride, but when you're in the lighter weight category, they're more or less the "big board" for the lighter days.
as the others said, don't worry about the standard Tuttle vs deep Tuttle, the standard Tuttle will work in the deep Tuttle box.

I like the early planing and the tail width gives heaps of stability in light wind gybes.
I am looking for a big board for light wind days. Something that will get me planing with a 7 m sail in around 12 kn.
Speed is an added bonus.
I have previously tried a 122 isonic but that is way too wide and feels like sailing a door.
Sounds like the deep tuttle is no issue.
My Mistral boards are deep tuttle too, so I have long fin screws.
Go the 107 then. I think I see the board you're looking at( in the seabreeze listings?). If it is the same one I don't know that it's a 2018 isonic, looks like a 2016 isonic to me, if that is the case, they are extremely forgiving for their size, it'll.probably feel quite a lot like your 111.
Seconded on the 107 size for what you're looking for, it will be light and easy to get going in light wind.
