Interested to hear what they are like. Obviously a replacement to the Venom and curious to know how they compare especially in freerace boards. Cheers.

I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I think maybe Vando and Dave Morehead (aus02) Have had them out. Might be worth PM'ing them, if no answer.

I used the Viper 44 up at the Nats on the first slalom day.
I had both the Sting2 44 and the Viper 44 with me but decided to go the Viper as the wind was pretty solid with the 7.8 and IS117.
It was mostly down wind slalom, the Viper was brilliant heaps of control where the Sting might have got a tad big.
It was only my second run on the Viper but it feels some where between the Venom and the Sting2.
Sting2 has more lift still which is what i used the 2nd slalom day as the wind was much lighter.
Still would like to do some more sailing with the Vipers but there been no wind here.

Any further feedback on these fins? Curious to know how they perform sailing upwind? Do you choose a size more like a typical fin or a little bigger like the Venom's?

I have a Viper & Venom in 32's. Laid them up against each other and the only difference was the cut at the back was a little different and they're black. Same angle, front's all the same. Haven't tried the Viper yet though, but then me being a girl I don't notice any difference in fins anyway, I just go sail and it all feels the same

I'm looking at some C3 fins and would appreciate some advice. You mentioned above that when the wind was solid you opted for the Viper 44. Suppose if you had a smaller Sting, why not just change down in size for more control?

If you had to choose a 3 fin setup to start off, say 32, 36 and 40, sting or viper?

What boards, sail combos? Are you looking at running, with the 3 sizes mentioned/or looking at getting?

Board 100lt, sails 6 - 7.5, 15 - 25 knots, 70 - 75 kg sailor.
I've got a venom that I like. Tempted to try stings.
Interested in hearing opinions on pros and cons of running a smaller sting vs larger venom when it gets rough.
