just wondering if you guys have put bolts though the bottom of the van or if you guys just have it sitting on the bottom and have just made the rack to fit so it doesn't wobble or fall apart
I build the rack with a foot that braces against the front and one side of the cargo space, then use webbing straps to hold the other 2 sides.
made a platform in my Venza using angle iron frame that was sitting on the floor carpet on one end and wedged and contact cemented into the support for the removed rear seats on the other end. the weight of the equipment on top of it also helps to hold it in place.
My frame is not bolted to the floor. I shaped the full width mid level plywood bench to the sides of the van so that its keyed in place.

I did racks with draws underneath - Didn't drill a single hole in the van, just used existing anchor points and a light (3 - 4mm) spectra lashing which is barely noticeable. Seabreeze won't let me post photos as I'm a "new member" - DM me if you'd like some pictures !

In NSW putting a bolt through the floor in a hole that was not put in place by the manufacturer can void your insurance unless you get an engineering cert stating it mets the ADR (which is not as much hassle as you would think). Any even minor modification now has to be certfied.....red tape.

I racked my van with self tapping screws. Nothing through the floor, anchored in wall and roof with adjustable racks.
