Checking out a 140 litre exocet scross 244cm x 80cm x 140ltr. Could you learn on this board? I surf, skate and sail and am keen to put the three together on a sailboard. On the north coast of nsw so there are lots of light wind days.
Far too fragile; you'd probably ding the cr4p out of it. It's a freeride board for when you've actually learned how to windsurf. You'll need something like a dedicated learners board or an old longboard. The last should be much cheaper too.

, Ive been learning on a big fat wide 160l board, the lads are right , Im constantly bashing and smashing it . something tough is really needed. ive a huge long tyronsea board sitting in perth waiting pickup as my next board to try. its a $20 tip special , but should survive the hard life a beginner gives it
Yeah if you can pick can up the Exocet for a good price then do so. However you really need something bigger to learn on and enjoy windsurfing from day one, especially in light winds.
Where on the north coast are you? I have an old windsurfer board, the original type, sitting at my parents place near Nambucca Heads. Its yours if you want it. Its probably not worth more than a 50 km drive though.
Hey bud, some good comments here. I would agree if its a bargin then i would buy it although if your on the larger size 80kgs or so you might find it a bit of a handfull to learn on.
A board around 160 ltrs or so will give you a much more positive experience. It will also be made of stronger materials so and thus survive those dings etc.
My first board is a fanatic shark 160, its 5 years old now and still looks really good, sails like a dream and its very stable.
My jp however which is a dedicated freeride board much like the board your looking at is alot more fragile.

I'm in Casino, probably 2.5 or 3 hrs from nambucca but thanks for the offer Mobydisc. I had a fanatic viper lined up but couldn't come up with the cash at the time and had to tell the guy to sell it elsewhere. It looked like a great learners board and apparently you get a bit of longevity out of them into the intermediate skill stage. The same guy had a starboard start which was a whopper but he reckoned you don't get as much longevity out of it because it gets a bit boring after the beginner stage.
