well we were broken into at woodmens point yesterday (28th or jan) while there were 100's of people out, not joking i counted 46 kites that day.

we had my harness stolen and our heavy duty car air compressor, if one of your mates apears to have "found" these items please send me a pm as i would really like to get these back.

strange thing was there was 1000's of dollars worth of windsurfing gear inside but only a harness and air compressor stollen though[}:)][}:)]

there are some real ****ing ****ers about

When are the local council or our boys in blue going to sort this bloody joint out
Then again maybe its not such a bad thing, at least the low life's dont frequent to many other good spots and concentrate on one area

Hope you get your gear back jordo, obviously the scum not aware that your a young chap without a lot of resources to replace gear like this.

thats no good to hear ,
theyre probably young , or after specific things.
i had my car broken into twice recently over night out the front of my house , ( altho i did leave the door unlocked )
first time my wallet was stolen and glovebox raided
second time my car was full of WS gear and none of it was taken they did however take the 3 dollars in my ashtray and my tyre deflators

i think the person actually watched me put it in the car. the first thing i do when comming in is go and chuck my harness is the car and put a dry shirt on. than walk down and watch every one for a while to wait for my kit to dry and come nd pack up,

i could be wrong but still to me its likely

After having my locks and window busted twice (once woodies and once Pt Walter) I take all valuables with me (luv the plastic notes), leave the glove box open , pull out the pockets of my jeans and leave the car unlocked. Maybe I'll get wanten damage but the last 2 times they got nothing but did many hundreds of dollars damage to my car so I'll try this for a while.

You WA fellows have a real problem with car break ins, either on the street or in carparks. Why doesn't the government do something about it?

I do not think we have a problem on the same scale in NSW. The last time stuff was stolen out of my car was 11 years ago when I had some coins stolen from my car parked on the street overnight in Wollongong.

Its amazing they can do this when there are so many people around. If I regularly went to the beach in WA, I'd drive some old ****box and have some way to secure my gear to the vehicle and not take anything else of value with me.

Yeah, here they take the whole car, not just the contents

I think if you left a vulnerable car overnight on a Saturday night in Crown St Wollongong, you have a chance of the whole thing going.

I suspect that having the government mandate compulsory immobolisers in every car in WA, that car theft is much lower than that in NSW. Maybe they now just steal what's in them and look for the immobiliser while they are at it?

I thought Woodmans point was relatively quiet, which is why it seems to be targetted.

I remember hearing a couple of years back about some Japanese guys who discovered that pumping air up 'yourself' gave them a bit of a buzz. So, in search of a bigger buzz, visited the local service station to 'borrow' their tire inflating hose.

Apparently there is a substantial difference in air pressure between a hand operated bicycle tire pump, and a service station hose.. One of them allegedly exploded his gut all over the forecourt..

Perhaps the crooks needed the harness to hold their guts in? That could fit with Richie's theory too..

Sorry to hear

Did you report it to the cops ?
It won't do much but it adds to the statistics. As the cops see the high rate of break-ins they may then include Woodies as part of their patrols.

Woodman point is a dodgy place, it would be not P.C to say why

I leave my car unlocked, at least they won't smash my windows.

Then again I spend most of my time in the car park drinking beer

yeah its been reported and atleast now i have a new argument for not going to woodies and going to dutchies instead, i think we will get it back with insurance we just have to get intouch with the insurance company and give them the clain number.
and i have an old seat harness untill i get the claim aproved,
